How to Receive Your Medication
We deliver your medication in three steps.
STEP 1: Fill out the medical questionnaire.
STEP 2: Choose the delivery method.
STEP 3: Confirm the payment and delivery address.
The doctor will review the contents of the counseling sheet.
Prescriptions are made based on the patient’s preferred medication,
so please make sure to fill out the counseling sheet first.
Can I receive my medication discreetly?
You can receive a prescription online, and you can also choose to receive your medication at a location other than your home, allowing you to use contraception discreetly.
Since our clinic provides online medical consultations, everything can be completed using your smartphone — from the consultation to the delivery of your medication — without having to visit a hospital.
You can choose various delivery options such as pick-up at a Yamato Transport branch, post office, or convenience store, so there is no need to worry about the medication being delivered to your home and others finding out.
We also offer several payment methods, including credit card, convenience store payment, ATM transfer, and PayPay.
In addition, no invoices or bills will be sent to your home, so you can use our service with peace of mind.
I’m a student and don’t have a credit card or a bank account. Is it still possible for me to use the service?
Cash payment is available at convenience stores.
Please use that payment method.
I’m a minor. Can I still use the service?
This service is generally available to users aged 18 and over.
Can you tell me about the types of morning-after pills?
We offer the following types of morning-after pills:
Levonorgestrel / Madonna / Josei
There are two types of emergency contraceptive pills:
the 72-hour pill, which is effective when taken within 72 hours after sexual intercourse,
and the 120-hour pill, which is effective when taken within 120 hours after sexual intercourse.
We provide Levonorgestrel and Madonna as 72-hour pills,
and Josei as a 120-hour pill.
What is the difference between NorLevo and Levonorgestrel?
NorLevo is the brand-name (original) product, while Levonorgestrel is the generic version.
Both of these medications are officially approved for use in Japan.
NorLevo is the first emergency contraceptive pill to be approved in Japan and is considered the original brand product.
It has been used for a long time and remains the most popular option.
Currently, due to shipment adjustments, prescriptions are provided with Levonorgestrel instead.
Levonorgestrel is the generic version and a relatively newer medication.
Its effectiveness is recognized to be equivalent to that of NorLevo.
What is the difference between Levonorgestrel and Madonna?
Madonna is an emergency contraceptive pill that contains levonorgestrel as its main active ingredient, the same as the brand-name drug NorLevo.
Both Levonorgestrel and Madonna are generic versions of the original medication.
Levonorgestrel is a domestically produced product and is taken as a single tablet within 72 hours after sexual intercourse.
Madonna, on the other hand, is an overseas product developed by Biopharm Chemicals Co., Ltd. in Thailand.
It is taken as one tablet within 24 hours after intercourse, followed by another tablet 12 hours after the first dose.
If the first dose is taken between 24 and 72 hours after intercourse, both tablets should be taken at the same time.
What is ulipristal acetate?
It is a morning-after pill that can provide contraceptive effectiveness for up to 120 hours after sexual intercourse.
Medications containing ulipristal acetate, such as Ella and Josei, are widely used emergency contraceptive pills that have also been approved by the U.S. FDA.
They are commonly used overseas and are recognized for their high contraceptive effectiveness up to 120 hours after intercourse, making them a convenient and reliable option.
What is the difference between the 72-hour pill and the 120-hour pill?
The main difference between the 72-hour pill and the 120-hour pill is the length of their effective time period.
As mentioned, the 120-hour pill remains effective for a longer period after sexual intercourse.
According to global data, the 120-hour pill also has a slightly higher contraceptive success rate compared to the 72-hour pill.
For this reason, more clinics have recently begun to recommend the 120-hour pill.
However, the 72-hour pill is still more common in Japan.
Many people prefer it because of its long history and strong reputation for reliability—particularly with well-known brands such as NorLevo.
We often receive questions about side effects as well as about the differences between these medications.
In general, side effects vary from person to person; some people experience none at all, while others may have mild symptoms.
For those who are trying the pill for the first time, have irregular menstrual cycles,
or are concerned about possible changes in their menstrual schedule after taking it,
we recommend our Peace of Mind Set,
which includes a pregnancy test that can be used from the first day of your period,
and two tablets of Primperan (an anti-nausea medication).
This special set was prepared in cooperation with pharmacies and distributors,
based on frequent inquiries we received from patients after taking the morning-after pill.
However, due to distribution limitations, this set is not widely available at other clinics,
and the price may be slightly higher.
We kindly ask you to discuss it with your partner and choose the option that best suits your situation.
Thank you for your understanding.
What is the “Peace of Mind Set”?
The Peace of Mind Set includes a combination of the morning-after pill, pregnancy test, anti-nausea medication, pain reliever, anti-swelling medication, and a dedicated aftercare follow-up service.
○ Morning-After Pill
You can choose between:
The 72-hour pill (Levonorgestrel or Madonna), or
The 120-hour pill (Josei),
depending on your individual needs and timing.
○ Pregnancy Test (Quick Checker) – 1 test
Instructions for use:
Remove the test strip from the aluminum pouch.
Dip the test strip into a urine sample (collected in a paper cup or similar container) up to the marked line for 5 seconds.
Remove the strip and lay it flat with the test surface facing upward.
(Do not place it on absorbent materials such as paper or wipe the sample area.)
Read the result visually after 2 minutes.
Note: Temporary streaks or lines may appear as the colloidal gold flows before the 2-minute mark, but these are not test results.
This product can be used from 3–4 days before your expected period.
○ Anti-Nausea Medication (Metoclopramide Tablets) – 2 doses
Take one tablet before meals.
Note: Drowsiness may occur. Please avoid driving or operating vehicles immediately after taking this medication.
○ Pain Reliever (Loxoprofen Tablets) – 2 doses
Take one tablet when you experience pain, such as a headache.
If a second dose is needed, take it 6 to 8 hours after the first tablet.

Take the second tablet with a meal at least 8 hours later.

You can also consult us at any time if you experience changes in your condition or have any concerns after taking the medication.

What kind of side effects can occur with the morning-after pill?
Possible side effects include nausea or vomiting, headache, light vaginal bleeding, and changes in the timing of your next period.
These symptoms vary from person to person, and not everyone will experience them.
The duration of side effects also differs greatly among individuals—some people recover within a day, while others may have symptoms that last for several days.
▼ Nausea and Vomiting
Among these, nausea is one of the most common side effects.
If vomiting occurs after taking the morning-after pill, the medication itself may be expelled,
which can reduce or eliminate its effectiveness.
For this reason, we recommend taking an anti-nausea medication together with the morning-after pill.
At our clinic, we offer the Peace of Mind Set (which includes an anti-nausea medication and a pregnancy test) for ¥2,000,
and we recommend it for those concerned about nausea.
▼ Light Vaginal Bleeding
Light vaginal bleeding may occur around 10 days after taking the pill,
and it often lasts for about 3 days.
This is a normal reaction and usually resolves on its own.
▼ Changes in Menstrual Schedule
It is common for your next period to be earlier or later than usual after taking the morning-after pill.
Those who already have irregular menstrual cycles may notice this effect more strongly.
For such cases, we recommend using a pregnancy test that can be taken from the expected first day of your next period,
which is included in our Peace of Mind Set.
Although it’s difficult to predict the exact date of your next period,
Please keep in mind that some irregularity is expected after taking the medication.
How should I take the pill?
Please take one tablet promptly with water.
▼ How to Take the Morning-After Pill
The morning-after pills we provide contain the recommended effective dosage in a single tablet.
These are widely used and recognized as highly effective emergency contraceptive medications.
You can take the pill regardless of meals—before or after eating.
Once your medication arrives, please take one tablet promptly with water.
For Madonna, a single dose consists of two tablets:
Take one tablet within 24 hours after intercourse, and the second tablet 12 hours later.
If your first dose is taken between 24 and 72 hours after intercourse,
please take both tablets at the same time.
▼ Important Notes When Taking the Pill
If vomiting occurs after taking the pill, the medication may not be absorbed properly,
and its contraceptive effectiveness may be reduced.
Please be cautious if you consume alcohol on the same day, as it may cause nausea or vomiting.
Some people may experience nausea as a side effect.
If you are concerned, you can take an over-the-counter anti-nausea medication
or use our Peace of Mind Set, which includes an anti-nausea pill and a pregnancy test.
If you are breastfeeding, please avoid breastfeeding for 24 hours after taking the medication.
Can I take the morning-after pill together with other medications, such as low-dose birth control pills?
There is generally no problem taking the morning-after pill with other medications.
Please refer to the following information.
▼ Taking Other Medications Together
If you are already taking low-dose birth control pills,
please skip your pill for that day and resume taking it the following day.
If you are considering starting low-dose birth control pills,
please begin using them after your next period has been confirmed.
At our clinic, it is also possible to purchase a low-dose pill together with the morning-after pill as a set.
There are no known issues when taking the morning-after pill together with
common pain relievers, cold medicine, or allergy medications.
I have allergies. Is it safe for me to take the medication?
There is generally no problem taking the medication.
Please refer to the following information.
▼ About Allergies
Regarding the morning-after pill and low-dose birth control pills,
There is no problem as long as you are not allergic to the pill itself or its active ingredients.
People with allergies such as hay fever, or food allergies, including eggs or buckwheat,
can generally use these medications without any issue.
If you have other types of drug or substance allergies,
Please indicate them on your medical questionnaire and consult us in advance.
How can I confirm whether the emergency contraception was successful?
At our clinic, we use pregnancy testing to determine whether emergency contraception was successful.
▼ How to Confirm the Effectiveness of the Morning-After Pill
At our clinic, the effectiveness of the morning-after pill is confirmed using a pregnancy test.
We do not use the presence of bleeding or menstruation as an indicator,
because it is often difficult to distinguish between different types of bleeding—
such as withdrawal bleeding, vaginal bleeding, or actual menstruation—
and the timing can vary greatly from person to person.
To ensure the earliest and most accurate confirmation,
We provide a pregnancy test that can be used from the expected first day of your next period
as part of our Peace of Mind Set.
For comparison, commercial pregnancy tests are typically usable around two weeks after your expected period date.
I recently had an abortion. Is it possible for me to receive a prescription?
We recommend taking the morning-after pill even after an abortion procedure.
If you have any other questions or concerns,
please feel free to fill them out in the medical questionnaire when you submit your consultation.
When can I choose the delivery method?
You can choose the delivery method after completing the medical questionnaire.
We offer several delivery options to match your needs, such as:
“I don’t want anyone to find out.”
“I want it delivered to my home even if I’m not there.”
“I want to take the medication as soon as possible.”
“I want to pick it up on my way to school or work.”
You can select the most convenient option for your situation.
After filling out the counseling sheet, you will be guided to the delivery method selection page,
where you can choose your preferred option in detail.
